Welcome Letter From the Superintendent

Listen to Welcome Letter

Dear Vandalia Community,

As the seasons change and we reflect on the better part of another active school year behind us, I am filled with gratitude and pride for the incredible people who make Vandalia Schools a truly exceptional place to learn, grow, and thrive. This Winter issue of Vandalia ONE celebrates the heart of our district: our students, staff, and the supportive community that lifts us all.

In these pages, you’ll meet students like Keaton White and Whitley Atwood, whose curiosity, determination, and quiet leadership inspire us every day. You’ll read about Ryann Lux, who is preserving our school’s story through her work on the yearbook, and Ollie Whitehead, a multi-sport athlete who embodies the grit and camaraderie of Vandalia’s athletic spirit. From Bryce Hartlieb’s achievements in FFA and football to the dedication of our educators and coaches like Mark Rinehart and Jami Kampwerth, this issue highlights the incredible talents, hard work, and resilience that define Vandalia Schools.

Our district is more than a collection of buildings; it is a living, breathing partnership between families, students, educators, and community members. This spirit of collaboration has never been more evident than in our shared vision for the future of Vandalia Schools. Our school board, in partnership with community stakeholders, is undertaking important buildings and grounds initiatives designed to enhance learning environments, improve safety, and create new opportunities for students. These projects, guided by a fiscally responsible approach, will position Vandalia Schools as a leader in preparing our students for the challenges of tomorrow.

As we embark on these improvements, we remain committed to transparency and engagement, ensuring that every voice is heard and every member of our community feels represented. Together, we are not only shaping our schools but also strengthening the bonds that make Vandalia such a special place to call home.

Thank you for your unwavering support of Vandalia Schools. It is a privilege to serve this community, and I look forward to all that we will accomplish together.

Warm regards,

Dr. Jennifer Garrison
