A Welcome to the Fall 2024 Issue of Fusion

Dear Meridian Community,

As the leaves begin to change and we settle into another school year, I’m excited to welcome you to the Fall 2024 edition of Fusion. This issue reflects what we’ve always known to be true—our students are not just preparing for the next step in their lives; they’re actively shaping the future of our entire community.

In this edition, you’ll hear from several groups of students who are hard at work, making strides toward their goals. These young men and women are embracing the opportunities before them, preparing for life beyond the classroom. Whether their futures lie in higher education, vocational training, or entering the workforce, each student has a story worth celebrating.

We are also fortunate to have insights from several officials affiliated with Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Their contributions highlight the exciting prospects available to our students and underscore the strength of our partnerships with institutions like SIU that are committed to helping Meridian students succeed.

But it’s not just our students and educational partners who are committed to this success. You’ll also hear from several members of our own Meridian team who pour their energy, expertise, and passion into ensuring that every student has the support they need to thrive.

As we move through the fall and beyond, I remain optimistic about the road ahead for our students and our community. We have a lot to be proud of, and the stories within this issue remind us all that the future is bright for Meridian.

Thank you for your continued support and investment in our schools and our students.

Sincerely,
Jonathan Green
Superintendent, Meridian CUSD 101
