From the Office of Dr. John Asplund, Superintendent
Galesburg CUSD 205

To the members of the Galesburg CUSD #205 community:

Thank you for taking the time to read our second issue of the Silver Streak.  We are proud of our students and staff, and I am confident that, through these stories, you can easily see that we have great people spread all throughout our district and community.

In this issue, you get to meet some very talented students who come from different backgrounds and who have different goals in life. These students have thrived in our schools and in their various areas of competition.  That is a credit to the students, their families, and all the other people who have supported them along their journeys.

The same can be said for our staff, who are highlighted in this issue.  Many of them are products of District 205 themselves. They returned to give back to help raise future generations of Silver Streaks.  And some of our staff did not grow up here, but have also left an indelible mark on both the district and the children they have served and will continue to serve.

We feel so blessed to have this opportunity to showcase some of our best and brightest.  I hope you enjoy the stories that highlight just how special these people are.

With gratitude,

Dr. John Asplund
Superintendent, Galesburg CUSD 205
